ROCKS!
like many today, i am wondering on poor Paul's faith - is he now in hiding, fearing for his safety? hehe.
i actually set my alarm to wake up for this morning's match between Germany vs Spain - due to monetary interest! unfortunately, i lost and a colleague of mine is one lucky single winner of the whole pot! grrr. another colleague was horrified to realise that she had written in the wrong column, or she would've shared the pot. hehe. she said i should've checked her entry but i said it wasn't my job to do so. =D
so let's see who wins the World Cup, shall we ... Netherlands or Spain?

The Bookie
I am now the 'accountant' for the World Cup Semi-finals matches for Uruguay vs Netherlands and Germany vs Spain but it's a pretty small pool! i just find it strange that i'm this year's bookie. Two years ago, someone else played the bookie for some football thingy.

oh, on another note, i really don't like auditors. they're so annoying! i think i may have offended my sister and her bf the other day when i mentioned it, hehe.
there's this one girl who loves to stand so close to me, right in my space when she asks for documents and stuff. she also has this habit of wanting to look over my shoulder as i go through my computer to locate the damn soft copy. what is her effing problem? audit the documents i give you, not my damn filing system in the hard drive la!
yeah, there's one right here who came over 5 minutes ago.
phhhbbbt.

the sports news is much more entertaining
... compared to our boring local news.
there's Wimbledon (Nadal!!!!!), there's World Cup (*LOL at Italy*) ...
oh, and even world news seems much more 'educational' than our stupid local news.
*hides in own cocoon*

the cheek!
can you believe it ... the car park attendant actually commented on my bad complexion this morning?
woh, crossing the boundary, man.
[UPDATE: ermmm, i finally realised after lunch yesterday that she was indeed referring to 'flowers' on my car, and not my face. whooops!]

Chef Diary, Plaza Damansara
a year ago or so, a new eating place opened at Medan Setia 1 and the first thing my colleague and i would do is to google for reviews.
at noon, we were the first patrons and we opted for the set lunch at RM18.90++.
cauliflower soup, which sounded peculiar, but it was good! what was missing was just a piece of bread to go with it.
my mixed pineapple salad or something like that. it was sweet to taste. not bad, i must say.
the beef pepperoni ariabatta ... which was really nice, mmmmmm.
the grilled chicken linguinie which looked like a chinese stir-fry dish! but it was not too bad.
my smoked salmon sandwich with potato wedges. the wedges were probably dusted with beef bacon powder or something, as it had a hint of it. ;)
last week, we finally decided to give it a try as we ran out of ideas on where to go for lunch.

A few weeks ago, steph and i met up for dinner at Smokehouse on a Thursday night. i read somewhere that the food was not too bad, and so was the ambience.
so off we trudged, without dot in tow as she was on sick leave.
we were pleasantly surprised when we were informed that for the restaurant's anniversary (the month of May), there was a 20% discount on the ala carte dishes.
The Smokehouse is situated right next to Madam Kwan's in telawi area of Bangsar. i don't think you'll miss it!
steph wanted wine, so we had a bottle of red wine to complement our dinner. hmmm i think it has been a loooooooooooooong time since i had some wine with dinner!
the menu not only includes a western selection, but also a thai one. we opted for Pad Thai as i must confess, i miss the one served at Silom @ Plaza Damansara a long time ago.
the catfish kerabu which i find it rather chewy. is it meant to be like that?
i know steph really wanted to order the duck curry from the thai selection but i wanted to try the chicken pie which had rave reviews.

oh when again
can i go scuba diving??
seriously, WHEN?!
met up with the bunch last night as they wanted to show us their video and photos taken at Layang-Layang last week. ahhhh once again, i could not help but to feel fidgety in my seat, wishing i too was there to witness what they saw.
they are planning several trips for the rest of the year and i really cannot help but to be envious, with my future holiday plans still undetermined. argh! for example, let' say i'm off to Shanghai for a week, so it means that i can't possibly squeeze in another week of holidays in that same month.
tricky, tricky ...
of course, i finally realised that the bunch has the time and budget for their diving trips, and they also purely plan their holidays for the year to be diving trips (only) per se. and i guess we're not like that, because we want to do so many other things, like trek in Nepal, climb Mt Kinabalu again, etc ...
BUT, a part of me also wish i was part of their gang. *shrug*
i really can't wait til my next diving trip! *fidgets around impatiently in my head*
ooooh but i do want to go back to Siem Reap.
and other places, of course. ;)
